The Rochester Park and Recreation will follow ASA Certified Equipment Standards regarding all equipment, with this exception: the use of multi-wall bats in men's and women's softball leagues will allowed, however, multi-wall bats will not be allowed in any of the co-rec leagues. Managers and players are responsible for knowing any exceptions to playing rules. Managers receive a list of these rules, or you can print out the file here: Rochester Playing Rules

Mat is a Strike, Plate a Ball!

Rochester will continue to use the mat behind the plate to assist the umpire in calling balls and strikes. A pitch that is between 6 and 12 ft in height and touches the plate anywhere will be called a strike.

Yellow Balls, Tastes Like Chicken

We are hitting an optic yellow 0.440 core/ 0.3750 compression ball. Reasons are: safety, safety and stupid high tech bats. Field your complaints to the RSA or the Park and Recreation Department. The RSA will continue to advise and share our concerns with the Park & Rec.
